After testing many ecommerce solutions from different providers for opening an online shop, I realized that Vendio is probably the sleekest and yet one of the cheapest investment you can make in setting up an online store than on any other website. They have some amazing and really cool features on their blog and it is something that you have to check out. First things first, let's talk about the price you will have to pay Vendio in order to get started with an online store. You pay nothing!!! It's FREE. This is the best part that I liked about Vendio. There is no catch; no gimmick; no hassles whatsoever. When they say free, they actually mean it. I've already laid out the most exciting aspect about vendio. Wait till you hear the next one. You pay no Amazon fees for a year! I know that this contradicts my earlier statement about the whole thing being given away for free, but the explanation given by Vendio themselves is as such. It is free for you to set up an online store but for every additional account you want to create with Amazon or eBay you will have to pay them a monthly fee. If you plan to sell stuff on your online shop on affiliation with Amazon, then this could be extremely valuable to you as the owner of a newly opened online shop. Now that I have revealed the exciting parts about this ecommerce solution, let me present you a step-by-step process explaining how you will go about opening an online shop with vendio.

Basically, according to Vendio's own website, you have a couple of options for setting up the ecommerce store. Once you have signed up for their free trial you can either choose to sell eBay products or Amazon products or products from your own inventory from a shop you own in the "real" world or inventory that you choose to promote with the help of 'dropshippers'. Anyway, once you have done that, you can use the Vendio Platform to organize each of your "free Online Store" and make a profit out of it. The advantage is that you do not need to know about management or web designing. Vendio also gives you the option to promote products wherein they will assist you with some really innovative tools to help promote and market your online shop. This applications given out by vendio include analytics software (which is similar to Google analytics and StatCounter) and other specific applications such as "additional image hosting, merchandising etc." If you want, you can even use some applications independent of the platform. Though it lacks the kind of quality and services that Prostores provides, Vendio excels in it own fashion providing the minimal tools that are good enough for the normal tech-savvy web user to make huge profits off his/her online shop. Speaking of tech-savvy, Vendio has made sure that it stays on top of all the latest advancements in technology and an example of this includes the fact that you can modify, add/change settings for your online store with your Iphone. If that's not using the latest technology, then I don't see what else can be.

Though there have been a couple of issues over the functionality of Vendio's new application, I would say that it is decent enough to use on your site. Since you can set up a store to any existing domain and need not necessarily have to set it up using a subdomain on it's own site, you can set it up on your site if you wish to. This will help you a lot especially if you already own a good website that is established and where you think that the customers would be willing to listen to your advice and buy stuff that you recommend, then you may want to set up a shopping cart and take some simple steps to start an ecommerce business by using Vendio. You can spend very less time and still get a decent-looking system.

Overall, though I would say that vendio like other ecommerce platforms, comes with its own advantages and disadvantages. If you want to stand out different from other eBay marketers for selling stuff on eBay, then you can choose to work with vendio. Of course, eBay still likes its own ecommerce solution Prostores better and that would obviously be give more preference. But nonetheless, I would suggest that you give it a try and see how it works out for your online shop, There should be no hassles, except for some minor glitches that can be improved upon by the folks over at V. (if you're wondering what it is, it's just that when you try to upload images, you have some problems with the Web Application. That is one that I found I had a problem with.)
